Bint Jbeil lives in memory with a depth few places can hold. This blue edition was created to reflect the dignity, calm strength, and endless sky of a town that has carried both beauty and burden with honor. Its berke, the town’s historic water pool, is where people from neighboring villages once came to gather water. Known as the heart of Jabal Amel, Bint Jbeil is a place of rooted families, proud streets, old balconies, and people whose resilience became part of its identity. The blue tones speak to longing, loyalty, and the quiet power of belonging, even from afar. This piece preserves not only the look of Bint Jbeil, but the feeling of hearing its name and standing a little taller because it is yours.

This art print honors Souk Al Khamees in Bint Jbeil, the famous Thursday market where people from nearby villages and towns would gather. More than a market, it was a center of life, where families shopped, voices met, friendships renewed, and the South moved together through trade and tradition. Bint Jbeil was home not only to its own people but to everyone around it, a town known for leadership, generosity, and presence. This Bint Jbeil balcony version was created for a woman from Bint Jbeil who longed to see her village again, to look once more toward the mountainside and the city that shaped her heart. To her, the view from that balcony was the whole world. Known as one of Lebanon’s most resilient towns, Bint Jbeil carried generations of pride, family roots, and steadfast people who stood tall through every season. Today, much of what once stood has been nearly erased, and many of the scenes held in memory are now gone. This piece preserves that lost view forever, a balcony of longing, dignity, and the homeland still living inside those who love it.

Not every love story begins in the same hometown. Sometimes, loving someone means learning to love the places that shaped them.

This Bint Jbeil print began with Rizan, who wanted to surprise her husband with something deeply personal.

He is from Bint Jbeil. She isn't. But she understood how much the city meant to him, especially after his family lost their home.

Rizan sent me photographs of his family's house, perched high on a hill overlooking the heart of Bint Jbeil. It was a grand, castle-like home, with a circular staircase standing in front. The house had never been fully finished or painted, and sadly, it was later destroyed.

She wanted us to preserve the details that made it unmistakably theirs: the staircase, the fig tree, the olive trees, and the view they once looked out upon.

We worked together to bring that memory into an artwork.

For the name Bint Jbeil, we chose a modern typeface and a playful shade of pink. Bint Jbeil is often celebrated for her strength and resilience. This time, I wanted to show another side of her.

Her femininity. Her charm. A little bit of sass.

Because Bint Jbeil isn't only a city of resistance. She's also a city of homes, gardens, winding staircases, and families who love her dearly.

When Rizan saw the finished artwork, she told me how much she loved it.

What began as a surprise for her husband became a way to preserve a family home that no longer stands.

Sometimes, loving someone means carrying their hometown in your heart, too.

Some places are so deeply rooted in us that one view can bring back a lifetime.

Bint Jbeil is one of those places. Nestled among the mountains of Jabal Amel, the city unfolds like a beautiful plate resting between the hills, glowing in the light of sunset.

Locally, some say it was once known as Ayn Al Shams, the Eye of the Sun, while others call it Bayt Al Shams, the House of the Sun. The origins of these names remain uncertain, but looking at this view, both feel fitting.

From the hills of Maroun Al Ras, near the Palestinian border, you can see the grand mosque, the schools, the upper and lower souks, and the Qalaa neighborhood. Unlike our other Bint Jbeil prints, this one brings the city together in a single view.

It began with a granddaughter who wanted to honor her family.

She imagined Bint Jbeil at sunset, with the words Capital of Resistance, a name deeply meaningful to its people. We worked through several revisions until the details felt right.

Her parents loved the finished artwork. But when her grandmother saw it, she became emotional.

She recognized the mosque and remembered the city where she had raised her sons and built a life with her husband.

Then her granddaughter told me something I'll never forget:

“We only know Bint Jbeil because of her.”

One woman had carried the love of a city across generations.

Bint Jbeil holds a history of sacrifice and resilience, but it is also a place of childhoods, familiar streets, and families whose memories deserve to live on.

Because sometimes, all it takes is one picture to bring an entire family home, if only for a moment.
