The story behind this print
Jabal Amel
Jabal Amel has long been known as a blessed land, honored in Shia tradition for the scholars, believers, and generations who carried faith, knowledge, and steadfastness. It is also among the southern lands where Jesus is believed to have once stepped, where spiritual memory meets earthly beauty. This art print was inspired by a scene shared by photographer Ali Daher from Sahl Al Midaneh between Kfarreman and Jarmaq, an area once occupied until التحرير Leberation in 2000 and long kept out of reach. Ali remembers walking into the valley as a twelve-year-old when people returned by foot to reclaim what had been denied to them. The paired Diwani calligraphy was chosen for its elegance, echoing the red oqhowan flowers of the South, symbols of both resistance and beauty.
