The story behind this print

Sarafand

Some birthday gifts are meant to surprise us. Others take us somewhere we have always belonged.

This artwork was commissioned by Alaa as a birthday gift for her husband, Mohamad, capturing the view of Sarafand from the porch of their family home on a hill.

From that elevated spot, the village unfolds toward the Mediterranean, revealing the warmth and character of this vibrant coastal town in South Lebanon.

Sarafand is known for its welcoming beaches, fresh fish, and the beloved Al Mounes Hotel, associated with the tradition of baked fish that has drawn visitors from across Lebanon.

But for Mohamad, this was more than a familiar coastal landscape.

It was the view from home.

The place where the rooftops, sea, and everyday life of Sarafand came together in one scene he knew by heart.

Created as a gift from a wife to her husband, this piece preserves a personal perspective of a place that means so much more when it belongs to your own story.
